It is important to us that we maintain our credibility as bloggers. One way we will accomplish this is by citing all of our sources in MLA format. A prominent goal of our blog is to provide our readers with information in a cohesive tone, despite the fact that there are multiple bloggers with varied interests. Therefore, we will avoid mercurial tones with a homogeneous citation method. We hope that presenting all of our sources in a consistent format will make reading and personal researching easier for our readers. This format will give readers a way to become informed and do some research of their own. We also want to be able to give credit to the researchers and journalists that have shared their work with us.
Citations will be implemented on our blog in the MLA format. They will be listed at the bottom of the articles and will contain a URL for easy access (URL’s will also be included in the articles). Our citations will include a plethora of information so any readers will have the ability to look up our sources or even do more research based on ours. The format of our citations will look like:
Journal Citation:
2009). Date accessed (Ex: 15 Jan. 2010). URL.
Last Name, First Name. “Article Title.” Journal Title. Volume number and
issue number. Date of article’s publication (Ex: 17 Dec. 2011). Date
accessed (Ex: 18 July 2005). URL.

Four College Girls agreed to use these citation methods because we feel that this way will be the most beneficial for the readers. By adding user-friendly links to our sources in the text, it will be very easy for readers to follow the link to the original source. By including links to our references, readers can do their own research about changed to our posts. For instance, if readers have an assignment on a subject that they do not understand entirely, they can read our blog for comprehension and then use our sources to complete their research. Both the MLA citations at the bottom of each article and the in-text links will give our blog a more professional and credible appearance.
