Four College Girls: Introductions

As a group four girls thrown together in an English class, finding one, coherent identity seemed out of our grasps. But then we decided on a basic identity that will give leeway for our posts - Four College Girls. Even though we are Four College Girls, attending UNC, who all hail from small towns, our interests vary from political science to biology. Our diverse interests will hopefully form a cohesive blog that will spark the interests of a wide demographic. We hope that our writing will appeal to a broad demographic, but our target audience is other college students. We feel our writing will most identify with students who will understand that our blog is an assignment for a class. Even though our writing is required, it will still be entertaining and filled with thoroughly researched information that is worth a peruse. We will be focusing on the natural and social sciences and the humanities and whatever else our professor deems necessary. Our individual posts, though assigned, will be of interest to us. We will delve into these broad topics, using our personal interests as guidance. Us college girls will use our chosen subtopics to create an informative and analytical blog for an audience as diverse as our personal interests.

Alex Johnson

Though I will always be a girl from the crystal coast of North Carolina, I have recently moved to become a Tar Heel at UNC where I’m studying Political Science. I love Politics and I am enjoying the diversity of opinions on campus, prompting me to not shy away from a debate. As of now, I’m a big Ron Paul supporter and I spend most of my time campaigning for his presidential race.

Rachel Daniel

I am originally from Goldston, North Carolina and came to UNC to study journalism. After having many new experiences in college, I am unsure of what I want to pursue now. I have interests in several different fields such as politics, history, psychology, marketing, and religion, and I love creative expression, writing, and learning. I hope to explore the natural and social sciences and humanities with an open mind and gain insight into what I want to do with my future.

Alex Konzelman

I was born in Burlington, North Carolina. I now live in Chapel Hill while attending the University of North Carolina and I hope to study nursing. Because of the uncertainty of nursing school, I am also exploring everything from a Spanish to sports medicine as options for my future. I have a passion for studying about how the human body works and interacts with its environment. In my free time I love to draw, paint, travel, and spend time with family and friends. I will approach the natural sciences, the social sciences, and the humanities with my future in health care and artistic interests in mind.

Katie Price

I’m from the small town of Smyrna, Delaware. I attend the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. My own interests include sports and outdoor activities. I love to discuss the performance of professional athletes, recent scores and statistics, and predicting the success of professional and collegiate sports teams. My major is undecided, but I may venture into the biological or medical field.
